Although it's not required to create your documents, it's a useful tool to ensure you get the most out of your upcoming appointment. 

Information to Gather for Estate Planning

  • Basic personal and family information (The names of anyone who may be in your documents both primary and backups/alternates)

  • Marital and dependent details (All current children and existing spouses even if not inheriting)

  • Overview of assets and property (You don't need account #s or balances, a simple description and approximate balance suffices)

  • Preferences for asset distribution (Primary beneficiaries as well as backups if any primary beneficiaries die before you)

  • Individuals to serve as executor, trustee, guardian, or agent (Who you will appoint in your Power of Attorney as well as backups/alternates)

  • Healthcare and incapacity wishes (Our attorneys will help you make these decisions during your appointment)

  • Existing estate planning documents, if any (We can identify documents that are still valid and can be retained as well as identify outdated documents you may need to replace)
